Laboratory Support for Electrical Engineering Courses
Many EE courses have a laboratory component. Labs are meant to enhance and extend a student's learning experience. In many cases student knowledge is solidified by active participation in laboratory exercises. Additionally, laboratories can provide a venue for exploration and extension of key course concepts.
Currently offered EE Courses with a laboratory component are listed in the menu on the left.

Poster Printing Service
The EE Department currently offers a FREE full-service poster printing service, for use by EE department affiliates and to students enrolled in EE courses that require a final poster presentation. To use this service you must be listed as a Stanford Electrical Engineering affiliated author on the submitted poster. For all the details please see posters.
Packard Building Access
The David Packard Electrical Engineering Building is open to the public during normal business hours. After 5:00 PM the building doors transition to card key access. After this daily transition an official Stanford ID Card is required to access the building. To obtain “after-hours” access to Packard you will need to:
Have a reason to request building access (e.g., you need to attend evening lab sessions)
Complete EHS-4200 : General Safety, Injury Prevention (IIPP) & Emergency Preparedness
Complete EHS-3400 : Computer Ergonomics Training
Send an email to the Building Manager, Mr. Kenneth Green (kennygee at stanford dot edu) requesting access and confirming that you have met the requirements above. You receive an email confirming that you have been granted access.
Student Computational Resources
The EE Department maintains a variety of computational facilities for student use. One of the most popular facilities is the Computer Cluster found in Room 051 Packard.
The Computer Cluster has 16 machines running Win 10 for student use, several of which have dual monitors set up for your convenience.
It is fine for you to use one of the monitors as a second monitor for your laptop
BUT PLUG IT BACK INTO THE LITTLE PC WHEN YOU ARE DONE.
Please let the Lab Manager know if you need additional software installed on the “cluster machine(s)”.
lab64 – The Packard Maker Space
lab64 provides a range of resources for building systems using transducers, electronics, computation and control.
